Slipknot plans to crawl out of the studio this fall to host its biggest-ever Knotfest.
The event will take place October 24-26 in San Bernardino, Calif., with Slipknot closing two of the three days and headlining a lineup that includes Five Finger Death Punch, Volbeat, Of Mice and Men, Anthrax, Killswitch Engage, Danzig, Hellyeah, In this Moment, the reunited Atreyu, Testament, Exodus, Suicide Silence and more.
Another Knotfest will be held November 15-16 in Tokyo, thought the lineup for that has yet to be announced. Tickets for Knotfest go on sale at 11 a.m. ET Monday (July 7) via the band's official web site; ticket buyers will receive a free digital copy of the new Slipknot album when it's released.
Frontman Corey Taylor said over the weekend the project is "98 percent done" and in the mixing phase and promised "big announcements soon." Jay Weinberg, son of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band guitarist Max Weinberg, is reportedly filling in for fired drummer Joey Jordison.
