Godsmack continues to build up to the August 5 release of its sixth studio album, 1000HP, with the fourth of five planned webisodes about the making of the album.
This entry focuses on producer Dave Fortman‘s work on the album; Fortman also helmed Godsmack’s last album, “Oracle,” in 2010, and frontman Sully Erna tells us Fortman is a perfect producer for the band:
“He’s a great guy. He’s got a really good head for melody and he’s really funny and he’s super easy to work with and he’s a great sound engineer. I know he’s a good producer, but he’s really, really great at mixing the knobs; he can sonically make a record sound so good and tight and fresh, and I love that about him.”
1000HP is currently streaming on iTunes in advance of its on-sale date.
Godsmack will be hitting the road to headline this year’s Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival tour, which kicks off August 15 in suburban Detroit, with Canadian dates to follow after the trek wraps.
