It’s only appropriate that the NFL season opener hosted by the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks feature one of Seattle’s most iconic bands.
Per the NFL, the league’s annual “NFL Kickoff” concert event will include a performance from Soundgarden as part of their salute to the Seahawks and the 95th season of the NFL’s existence. A portion of Soundgarden’s set will air live on NFL Network on September 4th at 7:30 EST.
It’s good to see the NFL incorporating more rock into their concert events. It’s definitely a nice departure from past performances from Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift and The Black Eyed Peas (AKA: Acts sought after to appeal to demographics not normally reached by the NFL.)
