Looks like the “Guardians of the Galaxy” were packing more than 1000HP.
Per Billboard.com, Godsmack’s 1000HP moved 58,000 copies in its first week of sales, making a debut at number three on the Billboard 200 album chart. Godsmack were pushing for a fourth consecutive number one debut, but the incredible box office power of “Guardians” (and their equally incredible soundtrack), as well as the debut of NOW 51, stood in the way of the Boston band’s milestone attempt.
Of course, Godsmack will soon be too busy to take a peek at Billboard. They’re set to headline the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival with Seether, which kicks off this Friday (August 15th) in Clarkston, Mich.
Silver lining: If Godsmack couldn’t be number one, at least a killer soundtrack that features The Runaways took the top spot, instead the absolute dreck that is NOW 51.
