Illness Forces Aerosmith To Cancel California Gig

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA - SEPTEMBER 18: (L-R) Musicians Tom Hamilton, Brad Whitford, Joe Perry, Steven Tyler and Joey Kramer of Aerosmith pose at the press junket to announce their new album 'Music From Another Dimension' and upcoming dates for their 'Global Warming' tour at the House of Blues on September 18, 2012 in West Hollywood, California.
Aerosmith had a bit of bad news for fans attending their Concord, Calif. show.

Per the band’s Facebook page, Wednesday night's (August 13) show at the Concord Pavilion was cancelled, due to an unspecified illness, while TMZ, citing an anonymous crew member, said drummer Joey Kramer  was experiencing heart issues Tuesday and will be undergoing heart surgery sometime in the near future, although nothing has been confirmed by Aerosmith

The group has 10 more dates left on the tour, which is slated to wrap up September 12 in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Kramer has suffered with health issues over the years, including substance addictions, as has every member of Aerosmith.

Interestingly, just prior to the North American leg of the tour guitarist Joe Perry indicated to us that he was starting to feel the band's mortality:

“Us, in our career, we're at a time when people are...I mean, I don't know how many more tours we got in us or how many more times we're gonna play...How much longer we're gonna be doing this...I mean, questions I can't answer...We'll see what happens. All I can say is what I have planned over the next six or eight months, and that's it. So I really don't know.”

Whatever is going on in the Aerosmith camp, here’s hoping all that’s needed is some rest and that everyone will be back to 100% soon.
