Buckcherry releases its “F#CK” EP today (August 19) — whose title doesn’t leave much to the imagination.
The set includes five songs whose title features the F-word — including a revised version of the Icona Pop hit “I Love It,” rechristened “Say F#ck It” — and whose lyrics drop many F-bombs. It’s also the first release on Buckcherry’s own F Bomb Records label, and frontman Josh Todd tells us the concept seemed like a, well, f#cking good idea to he and his bandmates:
“I have no problem with profanity, as you know, so…I’m like, ‘Man, let’s make the ‘Scarface’ of rock ‘n’ roll records. Let’s make the record with the most amount of f#cks in it and make a tribute to the word f#ck, but do it in a way that, y’know, it’s still like a good piece of product and it’s not silly. It’s well thought out.’ And so that’s what I thought we did…I’m so into this EP. I’m so proud of it, y’know? and I hope people get it for what it is.”
Buckcherry is currently on the road and celebrates the EP’s release tonight by playing the first of its 19 dates on this year’s Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Tour, in Pittsburgh.
