Zakk Sabbath Announce First-Ever Headlining Tour

Zakk Wylde will put his Black Label Society vest to the side and flex his Black Sabbath muscles this year.

Wylde's Zakk Sabbath will head out on its first-ever headlining tour on May 19 in New York, playing 13 dates through June 10 in San Francisco. The group also includes bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson (Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie) and drummer Joey Castillo (Queens of the Stone Age, Danzig) and plays a full repertoire of Sabbath tunes, which Wylde tells us is great fun for both the band and the audience:

"Obviously a meeting ground for everybody, common ground, is learning Sabbath songs. We were doing one of these metal all-star jams once, which are always fun to do, and I asked Blasko, 'What tunes do you want to do?' He said, 'We'll just do the Zakk Sabbath stuff,' and that's where the name came from. It's just a blast to do and people love it, so we just want to continue speaking the gospel that is Sabbath."

Zakk Sabbath toured last fall opening for Clutch, while the real Black Sabbath is playing its final two shows tonight (February 2) and Saturday (February 4) in its home town of Birmingham, England.

Wylde will also be part of the Experience Hendrix Tour for a third straight year this spring, and he's working on a new BRMC album, though no release date has been determined yet.

Don't forget that Zakk Sabbath will be a part of this year's MMR*B*Q - Details HERE.
