The track features pop/R&B vocalist Kiiara and marks one of Linkin Park's first collaborations with outside writers, Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter. The group's Mike Shinoda tells us that bringing in other contributors made the entire album process refreshing for Linkin Park:
"With every album, with every song we're trying to challenge ourselves. We like to try new things...Coming off tour, off the last album, the question popped into my head...What would it be like, first of all, to write with people outside the band, to approach things with our arms wide open, wrapped around a larger audience and still make it 100 percent Linkin Park and true to what we do?"
One More Light is due out May 19, while Linkin Park returns to the road 13 days earlier for a festival run in South America and then Brazil.
Shinoda, meanwhile, has been tapped to give a keynote speech at this year's Midem music industry conference June 6-9 in Cannes, while Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington will join Judas Priest's Rob Halford, Scott Stapp, Def Leppard's Phil Collen and others for Comedy Central's "The Comedy Jam," which airs at 10 p.m. ET on March 22.
