Metallica is giving fans a sneak preview of the upcoming North American leg of its WorldWired Tour promoting its Hardwired...To Self-Destruct album.
The trek launches May 10 in Baltimore, but at 9 p.m. on May 9 the group will live stream four songs from its final rehearsal via Facebook Live from M&T Bank Stadium. The performance will subsequently be featured on Metallica's official website and Facebook page.
It's Metallica's first full-scale North American tour in nine years, and guitarist Kirk Hammett tells us that
"We're very excited about it because it's been a long, long time since we've done a proper American tour. I mean, we've done European tours, Asian tours, South American tours relatively recently, but we have not done a proper American tour as of late and so we're very, very excited about it and we're very excited to be able to do it playing new songs and bringing new material to all our fans out there."
Hardwired..., Metallica's first new album in eight years, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart after its release last November.
