Footage Surfaces of NIRVANA Performing at RadioShack: Loudwire
Very early footage of Nirvana is circulating online. It shows the band, then known as Ted Ed Fred, performing in a RadioShack after hours during the winter of 1988. The songs are being lip synced to a demo, effectively creating a DIY music video. Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic are seen in the clip, but instead of Dave Grohl, Dale Grover is behind the drum kit. He later went on to join the Melvins.
Previously unseen in its entirety... Thanks to the filmer, Radioshack, and Dana Bong for the additional camera work. If you happen have a Nirvana tape that you recorded that has been sitting in a closet/attic/basement for 25+ years, let me know. Happy to help get it properly archived and shared with the world.
