GN’R News Round-Up: New Music (Maybe?), Billboard Streak
New music from Guns N’ Roses? Hmmm…makes you wonder how long it’ll take for it to come out.
Guitarist Richard Fortus said in a recent interview that the band has been “recording a lot of stuff, just ideas, assembling ideas, but not going into a studio and actually tracking a new record.”
While there’s no goal release date in sight, the infamous Chinese Democracy album took 15 years to come out. So, if a new GN’R album came out before 2032, we’d consider it a big win.
…In other GN’R release news, the band’s greatest hits album reached a big milestone recently.
Per Billboard, GN’R’s 2004 Greatest Hits has netted 400 nonconsecutive weeks on the Billboard 200 album chart. Only seven other albums have achieved such a feat in Billboard history: Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon (927), Johnny Mathis‘ Johnny’s Greatest Hits (490), the My Fair Lady original cast recording (480), Bob Marley & The Wailers’ Legend (471), Journey’s Greatest Hits (462) and Metallica’s self-titled album (432).
