Weekdays 5:30am - 10:30am

Kate Flannery is like family, but the kind of family you actually want to stop by when they come to town. She was in NYC filming an episode of

The Match Game for ABC, then spent some time down the shore with her family and ended her trip in Bala Cynwyd with us!

Before you listen to the interview, guess how many times we had to hit The Flannery Switch (aka the dump button)

After all the craziness, Kate wanted to tell us about Jake Hatfield, a senior at Penn State who is one of the three finalists chosen by an international jury for his 2017 Study Abroad Film Festival submission.

Turns out the student, who hails from Media, podcasts our show daily and sent us a note: “I was dumbfounded to hear my name mentioned on your show, by the always lovely and foul-mouthed Kate Flannery, this afternoon. It was so cool of her to mention a little Declo boy like me and the film festival I am a part of.”

The guidelines of the film were to capture the spirit of studying abroad: both what it means to you, and how it redefined your world. Jake shared, “I was lucky enough to study abroad in Tokyo, Japan and make a film about my grandfather’s service in Japan during the Korean War.”

Voting is very simple:

  • visit this Facebook link: IES Abroad
  • select Jake’s film, “Sapporo”
  • click submit

Poll closes on Monday, October 30th so vote now!!

*Twice. Kate got dumped two time this morning which is less than her last visit. Good job, Kate!
