Metallica Drops Demo of “Master Of Puppets”
Metallica is continuing to drum up expectations for its upcoming reissue of 1986’s Master Of Puppets, streaming a previously unreleased demo of the album’s title track.
The set is due out November 10, expanding the original album with unreleased demos, alternative versions and live tracks. Master Of Puppets was Metallica’s first major label album, for Elektra Records, and also its final studio set with original bassist Cliff Burton, who died in a September 27, 1986 bus crash in Sweden during the tour supporting the album.
Master Of Puppets peaked at a then-high No. 29 on the Billboard 200 and has been certified triple-platinum since its release. Metallica is in the midst of another European leg of its WorldWired Tour, with more on tap for 2018, and has also solicited fans for materials related to upcoming reissues of …And Justice For All and Metallica (aka “The Black Album”).
