ABOUT John's Friendly Market
Haddon Heights’ own, John’s Friendly Market, has been in business since 1976. This market is the center of the community, offering nothing but convenience and great food to their local customers. John founded this market in 1976 and now his daughters, Josie and Grethe have kept both their father’s
store and memory alive today. You’ll even find John's favorite chair in the middle of the aisle where he spent most of his time. The chair is decorated with his war veteran memorabilia and books where
customers can come and write down their stories and memories of John.
Josie and Grethe take great pride in running the store and also truly care about their employees. Every week they open up the opportunity for someone from their staff to come up with a sandwich creation, which will be the “Weekly Special" and named after the particular employee who created it. One of John’s most popular sandwiches is their Roast Beef Special, made with freshly baked rye bread, Russian dressing, Dietz & Watson Swiss Cheese, coleslaw and their homemade roast beef. We guarantee you will be back for another!
