LAS VEGAS, NV - MARCH 06: Recording artist Ace Frehley performs at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas at The LINQ Promenade on March 6, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The 2018 NHL Winter Classic was definitely in a “New York Groove” and not just because the annual outdoor hockey game featured the New York Rangers defeating the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 in overtime.

Ace Frehley was on hand to perform his KISS solo album cover hit of “New York Groove” in the frigid air at Citi Field (Fun fact: “New York Groove” is played when the Mets win at home… considering their 2017 record of 70-92, it didn’t get many spins.)

Frehley sat down with the NHL Network before the game to talk about playing guitar in the chilly elements, which even with gloves had to be a bit difficult in the freezing cold weather.

The NHL Stadium Series returns to Philly next February.
