TOM PETTY’s Family Reveals Official Cause of Death: WMMR.com
The family of Tom Petty revealed that his official cause of death was an accidental overdose of fentanyl, oxycodone and other medications. Prior to his death in October, it was reported that he was put on life support after being found unresponsive. After doctors found no sign of brain activity, the decision was made to take him off of life support.
Petty’s family says he “suffered from many serious ailments including emphysema, knee problems and most significantly a fractured hip… which had graduated to a full-on break, and the pain was simply unbelievable, and was the cause for his over-use of medication”. Their statement also addresses the current opioid crisis, pointing out that many additions begin with a simple injury.
