Their philosophy: life is too short to be unhappy. And according to your vote, this philosophy and what they’ve done with was enough to crown them as a pair of “Not Your Average Listeners”!
Mike and Jess write, “We made it a goal to simplify our life and fill it with adventure, embarking on a nomadic lifestyle in a self-converted camper van before our first wedding anniversary. In April 2017, we hit the road and haven’t looked back. As of April 2018, we have traveled through 43 states and parts of Canada, reaching all four corners of the U.S. A big part of van life for us is about being present in the moment and trying not to plan every next step, but we hope to drive to 49 states after our trip to Alaska. While driving through Idaho in March, our home on wheels was totaled by a herd of elk. After a whirlwind of events, we purchased a new van in Montana, and made our way back to Philadelphia to rebuild our home. We weren’t ready to quit this lifestyle!
After a month of building, we are about to embark on another journey. Mike is an architect turned artist who keeps a sketchbook and draws every day the places we go. Through his Instagram and website he sells his adventure artwork to a growing number of people. Jess is a scientist who works remotely in communications to translate technical information for public consumption.”
