DAVID BOWIE Bandmates Set ‘A Bowie Celebration’ Tour: Rolling Stone
A group of David Bowie’s band members plan to hit the road together under the name A Bowie Celebration. Included in the supergroup are Bowie’s longtime keyboardist Mike Garson and Diamond Dogs guitarist Earl Slick, plus Living Colour singer Corey Glover and Rolling Stones collaborator Bernard Fowler. Each gig promises “an ever rotating mix of hits and deep cuts” from Bowie’s catalog. The tour comes to the Keswick Theater on March 10th of next year, and tickets go on sale this Friday.
QUEEN Biopic Will Premiere At Wembley: WMMR.com
Bohemian Rhapsody, the highly anticipated film that shows the rise of Queen and the life of Freddie Mercury, will premiere in the UK at the former site of the original Wembley Stadium. The SSE Arena in London will host the premiere on October 23rd. The movie culminates with Queen’s legendary performance at Live Aid, which took place at Wembley. Brian May and Roger Taylor will join the cast on the red carpet. If you want to take a trip to the UK, tickets for the premiere go on sale this Wednesday.
THREE DAYS GRACE Set Billboard Chart Record: Loudwire
Congrats are in order for Three Days Grace, who have set a Billboard chart record with their 14th number one rock single “Infra-Red”. The song has reached the top of the mainstream rock chart, breaking a tie with Van Halen, who held the record for two decades for most #1 rock songs. 3DG Drummer Neil Sanderson says, “If you had told me when we were 14 and making noise in our garage that someday we’d set this record, I would’ve called you bat-S crazy!!
