METALLICA’s Kirk Hammett Wants To Pursue Solo Career: Loudwire

Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett revealed to Metal Hammer that he would like to pursue a solo album “when it feels right.” He explains: “I have so much material sitting around that’s obviously not Metallica stuff, and that pile gets bigger and bigger… It would not look like a metal album at all. It’ll be something so weird and far-ranging in styles, but cohesive at the same time.”

On stepping away from Metallica to work on solo material, Hammet says: “I think it’s healthy, and you come back to the band with more enthusiasm. It’d feel like going on a little camping trip, and it’s always good to come back home to a nice warm bed!”

We’ll see Hammett with Metallica at MMR’s 50th Finale on October 25th, and our 50 Day March To Metallica– with prizes every day- continues up until the show!

DAVE GROHL Has a Herculean Pre-Show Drinking Ritual: WMMR.com

In a new interview, Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters talked about what his bandmate Dave Grohl’s pre-show drinking habits are. The breakdown goes like this… An hour before a Foo show starts: One Coors Light. Then a shot of Jagermeister, polished off by Coors Light. A half hour later, 2-3 more shots of Jager with guests backstage, then 2 more beers, shots with the band, and then he grabs one more beer before hitting the stage. Added up, Dave Grohl consumes about 4 Coors Lights and half a dozen shots of Jager before each show. That regimen is not for the faint of heart!
