Adam F. Goldberg shares his memories of Zipperhead on South Street
Season 6 of any sitcom’s jump the shark year, which allows a staples like The Goldbergs to casually re-cast a character when the original actor is unavailable instead of writing them off.
In 1980-something fashion, writer / creator / Jenkintown native Adam F. Goldberg took a fun approach to introducing the new actress playing young Adam’s girlfriend. Tonight, Jackie returns from summer vacation looking like a totally different person (something that really does happen to high school age kids) she is completely reinvented with a full punk-rock makeover. To impress his lady, Adam goes to the only punk spot he knows… Zipperhead on South Street.
Remember that place? It was an institution punk scene institution… if you were cool enough to shop there. We talked to Adam about the store that housed many of our favorite memories and helped him out with the name of a classic Delco night club that’s been alluding him for weeks:
