Warren’s submission: A friend of mine suggested that I reach out to you about possibly being a ‘Not so Average Listener.’ Here is our story….
A number of years ago I found myself suddenly responsible for preparing my children for school in the mornings. There was a sharper learning curve with my daughter, who was then about 6. Particularly with her hair. I was determined to overcome my inabilities and, at the very least, make my daughter look not homeless two days a week at school.
So I reached out to friends of mine who teach cosmetology for some help. After a series of instructions, a few hundred hours of practice on Evelyn’s hair, we now teach classes for other dads who wish to do the same. Evelyn and I have taught classes at the Phoenixville YMCA, Phoenixville Childrens’s Library local churches/synagogues, and schools. We have plans to include “Daddy Daughter Hair Factory” classes in our school district’s Home & School Activity schedule of events for the 18/19 school year!
Evelyn & I are SO fortunate to have been teaching with/for the non-profit organization the “Daddy Daughter Hair Factory.” I am one of about 18 identified volunteer instructors for the national organization. We have dads throughout the entire country.
This is something that has not only helped bring Evelyn & I closer together in ways I cant describe, but we believe that it has helped other dads & their daughters as well.
Thanks again and keep up the great work Everyone!!! I have been a listener for YEARS and take your podcasts on the road with me every day. – Warren Anders
