We’re taking a look back at our favorite memories of the past year. Check out all of our lists here!
Blake Dannen’s Favorite Concerts of 2018
Cracker & Camper Van Beethoven – TLA – Jan 12
-David Lowery and Johnny Hickman are the modern Lennon & McCartney. Yep, I said it.
Bush – Sherman Theater – Apr 11
-Gavin & I shared a moment when he went into the crowd during “Little Things.” We pogo-ed together and sang about 3 words together. Bromance.
MMRBQ – BB&T Pavilion – May 19
-Loved the combined deal of AIC, STP, Ghost, and The Record Company
Foo Fighters – BB&T Pavilion – July 7
-Always great, plus the backstage BBQ with the band and MMR contest winners. If you listen to my show, you know how much I dig Dave Grohl. “Happy SaturDave!”
Rock At the Park w/ Eve 6 – Clipper Magazine Stadium, Lancaster – July 21
-They played their set in a downpour, with sheets of rain in their faces, and rocked out with no complaints. Those of us right in front endured the pouring rain with the band, which made it unique. Plus, they’re just a blast and have so many great songs.
Mike Shinoda – The Fillmore – Oct 14
-…the emotional power of the show & the new songs….
Rival Sons – Ardmore Music Hall – Oct 23
-the intimacy of the Q & A on stage and I’m a big fan of this band. They deserve to be huge.
The Struts – TLA – Nov 19
-Just one of the most entertaining, hardest-working and nicest bands on the road today.
Ghost – Tower Theater – Dec 11
-My first time seeing their full production, plus they recently increased the show from 90 minutes to a 3 hour experience with the intermission.
Breaking Benjamin – Sands Event Ctr – Dec 29
-Always great and NEPA heroes. As of this writing I’m looking forward to the show, but I’m sure it will make my year-end list, and a great way to wrap up the year in concerts.
