Slipknot Just Earned Their First Platinum Singles
Slipknot received some good news from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) this week in the form of their very first platinum singles.
Per the RIAA, “Wait and Bleed,” “Before I Forget” and “Snuff have all been certified platinum. By the certification requirements of the RIAA, this means each single has moved 1,000,000 units. One unit is defined either as a single digital download or 150 streams.
“Wait and Bleed” was Slipknot’s first single from their 1999 self-titled debut album.
“Before I Forget” was the third single from the band’s 2004 album Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), which also netted Slipknot a GRAMMY for Best Metal Performance.
“Snuff” was the fifth single from 2008’s All Hope Is Gone and the band’s highest charting single on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart. It peaked at number two in March 2010.
