Preston & Steve®

Weekdays 5:30am - 10:30am

What do you get for the man who already has everything? We had an idea…

A few months ago, Steve made a joke about wanting to get a cool bed, just like one that a kid might have, along the lines of a race car bed. But if we were gonna do this for Steve, it couldn’t be just some normal, average, run-of-the-mill, standard race car. No. We had to go bigger. Better. We needed to go full Batman.

For those of you who don’t know, Steve loves comics: the books, the movies, the legends, the lore, all of it. And for as much as he loves comics, Steve REALLY LOVES Batman. It’s his favorite comic book character of all time (sorry Iron Man) and we thought that making a Batman bed would be a funny, fun, and awesome birthday present. So that’s what we decided to do. One problem: we didn’t exactly know how to do it. And we’re not skilled at, you know, building stuff.

Fortunately for us, we have some pretty talented listeners, including a woodworker named Mark Campbell. Mark is the owner of Green Gate Woodworks (1217 Street Road, Chester Springs, PA 19425) Facebook: @greengatewoodworks  /  Instagram: @greengatewoodworks Email:

Mark started working on the Batmobile Bed and boy, did he nail it!! For the record, this is the “Adam West era Batmobile”, so for those of you who are fans of the vehicles driven by Michael Keaton / Christian Bale / George Clooney / Val Kilmer / Ben Affleck, you might be slightly disappointed. But for those of you who are fans of the campy 1960’s television classic, you should be just as excited as we are. This bed is a faithful replica of the 1966 Barris Kustom City and Lincoln Futura concept car that was featured on the TV show, “Batman”, starring Adam West and Burt Ward.

Here are a few photos of Mark’s work before he delivered the bed to our studios & the big reveal:

To say that Steve was surprised is an understatement! Watch the special moment:

We also have to send some love and thanks to our friends at Sleep Number, who generously and graciously donated a queen size mattress for the bed!
