Facebooks’ team of moderators may not have recognized that the image is from the cover of Led Zeppelin’s classic Houses Of The Holy.
Earlier this week, Facebook appeared to have banned images of Led Zeppelin’s Houses Of The Holy album cover. But according to Ultimate Classic Rock, it looks like they are reversing that decision.
“As our community standards explain, we don’t allow nude images of children on Facebook,” a spokesperson for the company said. “But we know this a culturally significant image. Therefore, we’re restoring the posts we removed.”
In the coming days, the social-media giant will adjust its review mechanisms to permit sharing of this cover by all users, rendering our “Facebook Safe” version now useless (but still impressive!)
Facebook also plans to allow similar content on a case-by-case basis that might otherwise violate their standards if it is deemed newsworthy, significant or important to the public interest. No word on whether not their team has come across the cover to of Blind Faith’s self-titled album.
