Twitter Dunks on a Guy Mad at Tom Morello for Being Political
Some things in this world should be relatively obvious, but for one unfortunate Twitter user, Tom Morello being vocal about politics wasn’t one of them.
In a tweet that has since been deleted but was, fortunately, screenshot, a Twitter user named Scott told the Rage Against the Machine guitarist, “I use to be a fan until your political opinions come out. Music is my sanctuary and the last thing I want to hear is political bs when I’m listening to music. As far as I’m concerned, you and Pink are completely done. Keep running your mouth and ruining your fan base.”
Morello then responded, “Scott!! What music of mine were you a fan of that DIDN’T contain ‘political BS’? I need to know so I can delete it from the catalog.”

What happened next was an all-out dunking on this Scott fellow, which is probably what led to him deleting his tweet. It got so intense that Rage Against the Machine was a top ten trend on Twitter in the United States! For some laughs, here are some of the best responses from Twitter.
I can't believe Rage Against The Machine is leftist. They were my favorite band. Not anymore. I'm going to listen to Rise Against instead.

Wait, people are just now figuring out that Rage Against The Machine is a political band? Have they been mishearing all of the lyrics for the past twenty-five years? Tom Morello worked for a Senator's office before he created the band.

Did people think Rage Against The Machine was about anger when a vending machine wouldn’t take the dollar?

For people who are telling @tmorello to keep his politics to himself, I have two questions:
— Erica Banas (she/her) (@Erica_Banas) June 9, 2020
1. Did you literally just learn about Tom?
and
2. If not, which machine do you think he's been raging against all these years?

The people angrily denouncing Rage Against the Machine for Tom Morello's leftist politics is one of the more hilarious things I have ever seen on the internet. WHAT MACHINE DID YOU THINK THEY HAVE BEEN RAGING AGAINST FOR DECADES? THE ICE CREAM MACHINE? THE ATM? LAWNMOWERS?

dear diary, today I learned that people who’ve listened to Rage Against the Machine for decades never heard a thing

To dude who used to be a fan of Rage Against the Machine until Tom Morello allowed his political opinions to come out, I feel you. I was gutted when I saw a tweet from Cookie Monster saying he liked cookies. I'm all "Keep it to yourself, my furry friend. I thought I knew you." pic.twitter.com/KFdFiedZDA

I wish Rage Against The Machine would stop being political and go back to writing songs about bulls at a parade

It’s wild that there are people who are only just finding out what the “Machine” in Rage Against The Machine is.
