Police Beg Residents: Please Don’t Take Selfies with NJ Bear

Did someone say bear?

South Jersey residents have been tracking the path of the fearless black bear making his way through their communities by watching Instagram videos, Twitter updates and endless Facebook posts from friends and neighbors.

That prompted the Winslow Township Police Department to share this reminder: the NJ Division Fish and Wildlife suggests if one should encounter a bear please do not, I repeat, DO NOT attempt to take selfies with the bear.

TODAY WE REMEMBER PATROLMAN DANIEL CALABRESE #95 Hired: 07/08/1985 ... End of Watch / Killed in the Line of Duty: 06/12/1994 Patrolman Daniel Calabrese Jr was killed in the line of duty on 06/12/1994 at the age of 39. He was the first, and remains the only, Winslow police officer to be killed in the line of duty.
