‘Wheel of Fortune’ Contestant Botches David Bowie’s Name

David Bowie is an icon, but this Wheel of Fortune contestant either doesn’t know who he is or experienced one of the worst examples of losing your train of thought ever.

On the November 26th episode of Wheel of Fortune, one of the puzzle categories was “The 80’s” and the answer was “Under Pressure by Queen & David Bowie.” When the contestant named Jacquelyn tried to solve the puzzle, which was only a handful of letters from being completed, she struggled with coming up with the iconic singer’s name and said, “David Louie.”

Last night's episode of Wheel of Fortune in which a woman said David Louie instead of David Bowie in the puzzle had the Queen fan in me gobsmacked over such a facepalming predicament. I mean no disrespect as she was lucky enough to have made it to the bonus round and won it. pic.twitter.com/6PU4awoqJ8

While she will unlikely never live down this epic fail, PopCulture.com reports, “Jacquelyn went on to win the bonus round, taking home $40,000.” So, sure, she embarrassed herself on national television, but taking home $40K helps get over such a massive blunder just a little.
