Yesterday, Governor Phil Murphy signed a historic legislation that finally legalized marijuana in New Jersey. We say finally because it feels like this process has been going on for months, but now it’s finally for real.
New Jersey native and weed advocate Kevin Smith was stoked to see this come to fruition. He sent out a Tweet commemorating the moment and snuck in a “message” from his iconic stoner characters:
Jay & Silent Bob have asked me— KevinSmith (@ThatKevinSmith) February 22, 2021
to make a statement on their behalf
on this historic day:
“You took away our fuckin’ livelihood!”
Excuse them. Eventually, they’ll be thankful to you and the voters of
New Jersey for both legalization
I thank you all too! https://t.co/voVcfgaaNW
If it’s any consolation, the state is still months away from stores opening, so Jay & Silent Bob have time to turn their Quick Stop territory into a new business venture…
