Courtney Love has come to the defense of her friend, Pamela Anderson, and has criticized the upcoming Hulu miniseries Pam & Tommy.

Per Entertainment Weekly and People, Love slammed the series in a now-deleted post to Facebook writing, “I find this so f—ing outrageous. When Pam / Tommy sex tape was out / myself @pattyschemel @xmadmx were making a record. And the lone women in many recording studios in LA. Where all / ALL! The staff engineers / producers / owners / were watching the sex tape with huge schadenfreude.. Guffaws, It was disgusting. I banned anyone discussing it.. It destroyed my friend Pamela’s life. Utterly.”

Love’s post continued, “Last week I was asked to approve using a ‘Rolling Stone’ cover of mine / shot by Mark Seliger in this piece of s—. That they had approved. I said ‘f— no.’ shocked. Gentleman don’t approve this sort of thing.”

She concluded, “My heart goes out to Pammy further causing her complex trauma. And shame on Lily James whoever the f— she is. #vile.”

As previously reported, the eight-episode limited series will explore Anderson and Lee’s relationship, including when their honeymoon sex tape was stolen and leaked. Lily James and Sebastian Stan will star as Anderson and Lee, respectively. Earlier this month, Hulu released the first images from the miniseries showing James and Stan done up as Anderson and Lee.

So far, a release date for Pam & Tommy is not yet known. Neither Anderson nor Lee have publicly comments on the upcoming miniseries.
