Connor Barwin’s MTWB Benefit Concert Takes the Stage this Weekend
It’s been a while since Connor Barwin has joined us in studio, we have to have this guy in more often. He is a wonderful human who dedicates his time to helping the community, working with our favorite football team and raising his family right here in Philadelphia.
First off, if you are thinking, “man, Connor looks skinny” you’re right. Connor admitted that he has lost too much weight – about 40 pounds – since retiring. It lead into a crazy conversation about different body types in the NFL. Some players find it hard to keep the weight on, some have trouble shedding the pounds. Then there’s Jason Peters, he would put on 30 – 40lbs during camp. Whoa.
If you’re not keeping tabs on Connor’s latest moves (re: following him on Instagram) then you may not know that he is the Director of Player Development for the Philadelphia Eagles, he’s a dad, and his annual summer concert returns this weekend.
The 6th Annual Make the World Better Benefit Concert is happening Saturday, July 23rd. Japanese Breakfast, Yo La Tengo and Cate LeBron take the stage at The Dell Music Center beginning at 7pm. Proceeds from ticket sales go to MTWB Foundation to… well.. make our world better!
The MTWB Foundation believes that communities thrive when all of its members have access to a safe, healthy, and friendly place to hang out and get together. MTWB works directly with the community to reimagine what they want that parks that they revitalize to look like.
In fact, one of the MTWB rebuilt parks was in Adam Sandler’s Hustle. The scene with Dr. J? That was shot in Smith Playground, the second project the Foundation completed. Do your part in making the community stronger and catch some great bands as well. Tickets available here.
