MIAMI - APRIL 06: Starting pitcher Jamie Moyer #50 of the Philadelphia Phillies talks with catcher Carlos Ruiz #51 after Ruiz ended the inning by tagging out Miguel Olivo #30 of the Florida Marlins at home plate trying to score on an inside the park home-run at Dolphin Stadium on April 6, 2007 in Miami, Florida. They did it. THEY DID IT!

The Phillies are the ninth MLB Team to achieve 10,000 franchise wins. The milestone was reached with an 11 – 4 win over the Reds in Great American Ballpark on Tuesday, August 16th.

Unfortunately, the achievement came with subtle amounts of fanfare. A few social media posts, some mentions during the game (I assume. Like Krucker, I missed the game too) and a handful of news articles. Which is why I’m taking the opportunity to flashback to one of my favorite moments in Preston & Steve Show History – 10,000 Marbles for 10,000 losses.

Fifteen years ago Philly went wild when the team was on the brink of losing their 10,000th. Probably because that loss came with a very prestigious title. On July 15, 2007, the Phils became the first franchise in all of professional sports to reach that milestone.

The Preston & Steve Show celebrated by recreating the scene from Animal House and poured 10,0000 marbles down the steps of the Art Museum.

Where’s the spirit? Where’re the guts, huh?
