Preston & Steve Giving Away Tickets to Wednesday’s SOLD OUT Pearl Jam Show
Update: Here’s how the contest will work: The show has a very vague stat about the show. They are taking calls all morning long. The person who guesses what the stat correctly stands for wins the tickets.
Question: In what way is the #179 significant to Pearl Jam? Guesses so far:
- Total number of songs in their entire library.
- The band will be arriving by tour bus for the first 179 shows
- Nothingman played that man times live by Pearl Jam and their cover bands.
- Where the Philly show debuted on the billboard chart
- Number of times they’ve played Better Man live
- Weeks they’ve been on the charts
1st Clue: The number has to do with a specific song. They’re looking for it’s significance & why.
- Note count in the beginning of Black.
- All of the numbers that Ed sings in the beginning of Animal added up.
- Number of times that Immortality has been played live.
2nd Clue: Words matter.
- Amount of takes it took to record Yellow Ledbetter.
- Number of words in Better Man.
- Number of words in the song, In My Tree
3rd Clue: When merging one must….
- Number of lyrics in the song Wishlist <— CORRECT! Congrats to Richard from Palmyra, NJ
Original post: Pearl Jam’s highly anticipated, very sold out, only Philadelphia area show is this Wednesday evening at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion. This leg of shows are rescheduled from their 2020 tour that was planned in support of their album Gigaton.
If you recall, this concert was our introduction to the Verified Fan system which added an extra layer of verification to all potential ticket purchasers. The band does everything they can to make sure that true fans are buying tickets. So does WMMR.
MMR’s Program Director, Bill Weston, is offering up his own personal tickets for a contest, but they have to go to a serious fan. The same guy who gave us “three legged stool”, “barn door”, “privileged” “Santa’s gotta go” and countless other gems has handed over a pair of seats to The Preston & Steve Show to give away live on air.
The morning show has not announced yet how they will be giving away the tickets. The only details that have been confirmed are that the contest will happen Wednesday morning. Listeners are encouraged to start listening beginning at 6am to increase their chances of winning.
One lucky MMR listener is actually going to Win The PD’s Tickets. Tune in to 93.3 WMMR beginning at 6am on Wednesday, September 14th to score those tickets. Good luck!
