Kathy Romano’s Trip Along the New Jersey Wine Trail
Kathy Romano explores New Jersey Wineries before the Holiday Wine Trail Weekend, November 25th – 27th.
I was recently introduced to the wineries in NJ and an amazing group of people who work in the industry. I had no idea these little gems were so close to me. My girlfriends and I took a trip to NJ for a Sunday afternoon wine tasting. We hired a car service so we could fully enjoy the tastes of these delicious wines harvested right here in New Jersey.
Local wines often get a bad reputation because they’re not from France or Italy. My friends and I visited the Amalthea Cellars in Atco, NJ and I have to say it was excellent wine. Lou, the owner of the winery, who grew up in Italy and owns a home in France, brought his wine expertise to New Jersey. I was pleasantly surprised at how great the wines made in New Jersey tasted. I was among those who thought local wines must not be that good. I was wrong! My friends and I left the winery with a case of wine and plans to return!
Don’t miss out on the NJ Wine Holiday Trail this weekend. There are various events taking place all weekend at the different wineries in NJ. Details about each winery and what’s being offered this weekend can be found here. Plus, find more details about the entire New Jersey Wine Trail and how you can enjoy what the wineries offer all year long.
If you’d like to learn more about women in the New Jersey Wine industry, hear an in-depth interview with Victoria Reader, Cellar Master and Vineyard manager at Amalthea Cellers next Sunday December 4th on Her Story, hosted by me, Kathy Romano, beginning at 7:30am on 95.7 BEN-FM.
