Jim’s Steaks to Reopen in 2023, Blueprint Reveals 2nd Floor Addition
Straight off the news desk of the City Beat: Jim’s Steaks has revealed plans for their reopening.
In a Tweet that was posted on January 1st, the iconic cheesesteak joint shared a copy of the blue prints and the promise to be open this year. The post reads: “Hello, Beautiful! Happy New Year to you and yours. We’re beyond thrilled o share some early plans for our rebuild. Can’t wait to see you again in 2023!”
That is great news! It’s been six months since an electrical fire destroyed the building. A few days after the incident, the owners promised to rebuild… and we never doubted. Plus, there are new updates proposed! Close inspection of the plans show a new addition.

In the blueprint sketch, the words “Proposed 2nd Floor Addition” show a six foot extension to the back of the seating area. The façade of the addition matches the classic doo wop black & white theme with a big window to look out onto 4th street.
With all this new construction, Jim’s is probably going to need new photos to hang on the wall. Do you think they would hang a photo of The Preston & Steve Show? ‘Cause that would be really cool. We’re big fans…
