Have you ever won a prize by calling into a radio station? Have you ever been listening to your favorite WMMR DJ when suddenly they give away a prize that you really, really want? And you call over and over again, whimpering with every busy signal. Just when you are about to give up hope, you call one more time and suddenly… a ring. It rings once, twice, and the voice that you were just listening to through the speakers is in your ear, talking to you and you alone, delivering those magical words: “CONGRATULATIONS, YOU HAVE WON!”

No? Well, have you ever been listening to the radio, tried all of the above and some lame person with zero enthusiasm wins the prize that you would have moved mountains to win?

For too many people, the second scenario is much more common.

And we’re here to comfort you and let you know that it’s okay to be a little mad, annoyed or frustrated by lame prize winners. We are too.

That’s why Pierre took the time to demonstrate exactly what everyone wants to hear from a person who just won a really cool prize. Friday morning, The Preston & Steve Show gave a away a pair of Lawn Passes good for every concert at the FM Pavilion this summer. The winner’s energy was lacking, so Pierre stepped in:

“Oh, my God. That's so amazing. I CAN’T! I DON’T EVEN know where to start. I'm going to start crying. Wait till I tell my friends who's going to go with me. It's going to be the best time ever. Oh, that show and that show and that show and show. Preston and Steve, you’re the best. YEAAHHHHHHH! Oh I can’t believe it .Honey, did you hear that? Oh, my God. MMR. Is the best. Preston and Steve gave me…. I pissed myself.”

Watch the video below for step-by-step instructions. Take notes. Do as Pierre does!

From roughly 10:30am to somewhere around 3 (we call it Pierre Standard Time) weekdays Philadelphia rocks with (and loves) Pierre Robert on WMMR. Pierre Robert began his illustrious career at the pioneering progressive rock station KSAN, in his hometown San Francisco, but it’s through his uninterrupted 42-year tenure at Philadelphia‘s legendary WMMR that he’s made his mark. One of the city’s most recognizable celebrities will write about being at the center of its live music scene and greeting his legions of fans as if personal friends in the smallest clubs and largest stadiums.
