Oh Captain, my Captain. Our AFC Richmond Captain, that is.

You know him best as Ted Lasso’s Isaac McAdoo, but Preston and Steve had the opportunity to talk with the man himself, Kola Bokinni. Bokinni has been on the show since its debut season, and Ted Lasso is currently airing its third and final season on Apple TV.

Kola is as gentle and kind as his character, Isaac. The London native is very humble in his work and explains how happy he is to finally watch this season play out. He discussed being very proud of his co-stars and is enthusiastic about where the season will take the cast.

You might be wondering, with the show coming to an end, what is Kola most excited about? The answer just might surprise you. Bokinni admits he’s excited there’s an end to the series, and with no hanging strings or unanswered questions, he’ll never have to answer those press questions ever again.

Bokinni loves the sport of football and enjoys the experience of playing the role. His role is pivotal for the reconstruction of AFC Richmond and their journey to the top of the Premier League. Viewers get a firsthand look at how his character falls back in love with the sport, as well as his growth into the leader of the team.

Kola has another passion alongside his acting career: he’s a Potter-head at heart. He recently had the chance to visit Universal Studios, where he visited Hogsmeade and even purchased himself a wand.

The show touches on a variety of different topics for fans to relate to, which makes the show an endearing experience for every viewer. On March 20th, Bokinni and other members of the show took a trip to the White House. Members of the cast present for the event included Jeremy Swift, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Toheeb Jimoh.

Coach Ted Lasso, portrayed by Jason Sudeikis, discussed the importance of United States mental health care with President Biden. The meeting was intended to direct Congress’ attention and to direct more resources to the issue. During their visit, Sudeikis emphasized the importance of asking family and colleagues “how they’re doing”.

Get your scarves and jersey’s ready, AFC Richmond is coming for the Premier League Title at all costs. Ted Lasso airs Wednesdays on Apple TV
