Local author Charles Wiedenmann has a book out called Lawndale available on Amazon. If you grew up in the 60s and 70s in Philly, this book is full of short stories about growing up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I am going to check it out. The reviews are great.
It is before the internet and cell phones. A lot of folks think fondly of those days. You were gone all day and came home for dinner. I suspect we will find a lot of stories and places in this book that will bring back a lot of memories.
According to the introduction in his book, Charles Wiedenmann was writing a dating and relationship blog in Philly for a number of years when Covid 19 happened. He couldn't write about his life in the city and on the streets so he decided to write about his past. Brilliant. Even after reading just the introduction on Amazon, I am hooked. Off to order my copy now.
