Few people knew John Lennon as intimately as May Pang. Pang was Lennon’s lover during the infamous “Lost Weekend” which lasted 18 months during late 1973 through 1975.
The Preston & Steve Show had the opportunity to speak with May via Zoom before the debut of her movie, The Lost Weekend: A Love Story (April 13th). Her stories are unbelievable.
Starting as a young woman casually walking into Apple Records asking for a job, May's relationship with John and lead her into Forrest Gump level situations.
From sitting in on John and Paul's all-star jam session, to Yoko asking her to call Jackie O, and being on the set of Happy Days, her tales are jaw dropping. Hear for yourself:
During this highly creative time for Lennon, Pang took candid photos of Lennon in a comfortable, relaxed environment.
A collection of these private photographs will be on display and available for purchase at City Winery - Philadelphia (990 Filbert Street, Philadelphia) on Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16. The exhibition entitled, “The Lost Weekend – The Photography of May Pang” is free to the public and all works are available to purchase. May Pang will be in attendance at City Winery and signing copies of her fine art photographs for customers.
The exhibit coincides with the feature film documentary “The Lost Weekend : A Love Story” that premieres in theaters beginning April 13th.
