The grand opening event will also feature free giveaways from the Rita’s prize wheel, photo ops with Ice Guy, the Rita’s mascot, and face painting.
WMFZ also reports that the franchise owners, Michelle and Denis Udicious will be in attendance and host the official ribbon cutting at 5p.m.

Each Rita’s Italian Ice is individually owned and operated and specializes in Italian ice, frozen custard, and specialty creations. Their famous Italian ice is made fresh daily at each location, with a rotating selection of over 75 flavors. In addition to Italian ice, they also offer custards, shakes, ice creams, and more. The company’s motto is “Ice Custard Happiness,” and they are passionate about delivering happiness to their customers.
One of those specialty creations is the recently debuted Cold Brew Frozen Coffee drinks which comes in three flavors, Original Cold Brew, Mocha, and Caramel.
Originally founded in May 1984, Philadelphia firefighter Bob Tumolo created his prized family recipe to include real fruit, named the product after his wife Rita, and Rita’s Italian Ice was born.
