Sports Illustrated has posted a story, titled “Eagles QB Jalen Hurts Says Philly Didn’t Lose Super Bowl vs. Chiefs.” With that headline, it definitely drew attention. The Philadelphia Eagles lost in Super Bowl LVII to the Kansas City Chiefs. Hardly anyone is contesting that the Chiefs won the game. But, Hurts doesn’t. That said, he doesn’t see it as a win, either.

Here’s what Jalen Hurts really said. “After that game, I said, ‘You either win or you learn,’ and I think people look at failures or things like that as a negative thing,” Hurts said via NFL.com’s top takeaways (via SI). at the first weekend of NFL training camps. “But it’s about how you respond to it.”
So, he’s basically saying that they didn’t win the game, but they “won” in the fact that they learned from it. He’s also making the point that one should learn from their “failures” or mistakes and do better next time. Finally, he’s explaining that responding to a negative situation, like losing the Super Bowl, has a lot to do with the outcome.
What’s great is that the Eagles are favorites to make it to the Super Bowl again this season. The Chiefs are, too. Will we see a repeat of last year? We’ll find out.
