All’s well that ends well!
More than a week after he became incredibly ill, rescuers were finally able to pull Mark Dickey, a 40-year-old experienced caver, to safety. The American researcher was rescued out of the Turkish cave on Monday, more than 3,000 feet below its entrance, according to the Turkish government.
Teams from across Europe had rushed to Morca cave in southern Turkey to try to help Dickey after he became seriously ill on September 2nd with stomach bleeding. He was on an expedition to map the cave, which is the country’s third deepest.
