Here’s How the Philadelphia Eagles Could Still Be Division Champs
Well, that wasn’t pretty. The Philadelphia Eagles fell to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday (Dec. 31) in a shocking loss. But, don’t lose hope. It’s not over yet, and the playoff picture is looking decent. The Philadelphia Eagles could still be division champs.
Here’s the updated Philadelphia Eagles playoff picture.
If the Eagles want to be division champs, they’ll have to pray for an upset where Washington beats Dallas this weekend. They’ll also have to beat the Giants in the final game of the regular season. Beating the Giants might sound easy, but seeing that Philadelphia just lost to Arizona, anything is possible. The Eagles are a championship team, and they need to remember that. If the Eagles beat the Giants on Sunday (Jan. 7), that’ll be good news. But, I highly doubt Dallas will fall to the Commanders. That would leave Philly as the No. 5 seed in the playoffs. That said, if the Eagles beat the Giants and get a Cowboys loss at Washington, they can end higher. Long story short, the Eagles need a win and a Dallas loss in Week 18 to officially win the NFC East.
As for the rest of the NFC, the San Francisco 49ers are the NFC’s top seed, thanks to their win over the Commanders and the Eagles losing. They probably won’t start their best players against the Rams this weekend, because they’re already No. 1 and staying there. At least, that would be my call. If the Cowboys beat the Commanders next Sunday on the road, they will win the NFC East and get at least two home games, if they go that far in the playoffs. Right behind the Cowboys are the Lions, who fell in a controversial loss to Dallas in Texas last weekend. The Lions will be at least a three seed, but they can get to a second seed with a win over the Vikings and losses from the Cowboys and Eagles. So, a lot can happen in these last Week 18 games.
