Snow, Cold is Coming to Pennsylvania Next Week
It’s been a wacky week of weather. Some areas of the U.S. were pummeled with tornados, while others saw major snowstorms. Pennsylvania already gotten some weird weather, and we might actually be getting fresh snow soon. Snow and cold is coming to Pennsylvania Monday and Tuesday, so let’s get into it.
Thankfully, we aren’t going to get hit as badly as much of the Midwest. According to Weather.com, a massive storm will impact pretty much all of the Midwest this weekend. Right now, some areas will get some relief in the form of rain, but there’s the chance for snow and high winds pretty much across the Midwest. Expect impacts in major cities such as Chicago, Milwaukee and Detroit. While snow totals look big, anywhere from 4-12 inches, the main danger is from high winds. High winds, of course, can cause power outages. So, what about Pennsylvania?
This storm that’s hitting the Midwest will bring some high winds to Pennsylvania on Saturday (Jan. 13), but thankfully, it will be far too warm for snow. So, we dodged a bullet there. But, a snow system is coming to the area on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Tuesday, especially on the latter.
According to Weather.com, on Tuesday, experts are “watching a potential winter storm. Snow likely.” The chance of snow is currently 70%, with 3 to 5 inches during the day on Tuesday and additional snow early Tuesday night. With highs only around 34F, it will be cold enough for the snow to stick. Thankfully, right now, the winds look tame, at 10 to 15 mph. Following Tuesday, we look in the clear for quite a while, with quiet skies. Temperatures will be cold next week, though, with lows in the teens. Is it spring yet? Just a few months to go.
