Zakk Wylde Announces Inaugural Festival in the Poconos
Zakk Wylde will bring music, beer, a car show and more to the Poconos with BERZERKUS, a festival of his own ferocious design.
Father Zakk holding it down for Brother Dime. Wylde did an incredible job paying tribute to Dimebag Darrell.
Brent PorcheBERZERKUS is the brainchild of Zakk Wylde, and you're going to want to be part of it in the Poconos this September.
The official website for the festival, which was curated by the legendary guitarist of Black Label Society, promises a "rock and roll circus extravaganza." The music lineup includes his own band, BLS, with Clutch, Rival Sons, Cody Jinks and Black Stone Cherry. There are also several solid tribute acts on the bill: ZOZO (performing the music of Led Zeppelin), The Atomic Punks (honoring Van Halen), and The Iron Maidens (playing Iron Maiden, of course).
The event is set for Saturday September 14th at Poconos Park in Bushkill, Pennsylvania. Tickets go on sale this Friday (2/2) with a special presale available to those who register this week through Berzerkus.com.
There's gonna be a ton of live and loud rock n' roll, but there's even more packed into this one-day-only festival. Also on the agenda is a classic car show, a strongman competition, a ton of local breweries on site for you to try, a music gear market (read: cool guitars for sale!), plus a battle of the bands for regional acts to come and showcase their own music.
If you ride a motorcycle, there will be a Ride for Dime starting at the Pocono Mountain Harley-Davidson and rolling right up to the gig. The charity ride will celebrate the life and legacy of Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell. Zakk Wylde recently stood in for the fallen Dimebag on last year's Pantera reunion tour. See photos from that gig here.
