Highly Suspect Announce New Album
As for the tour, Highly Suspect will hit a range of U.S. towns starting on July 24 in Memphis, Tennessee, and wrapping up with an Aug. 2 show in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Other dates include Detroit and Flint, Michigan; St. Louis; and Chicago. A Live Nation ticket pre-sale for the tour starts Thursday (May 16) at 10 a.m. local venue time using the code SOUNDCHECK. General ticket sales begin Friday (May 17) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster. On top of the tour, Highly Suspect also have a handful of festival dates this summer and fall, including Louder than Life and Aftershock festivals.
To get fans pumped for the new album, another part of the Highly Suspect announce has the guys releasing a new song, “Summertime Voodoo,” which is also the name of their summer tour. “Summertime Voodoo” goes back to a more classic sound than their more recent material, serving up a straight-ahead psychedelic rock vibe. The accompanying video features some desert motorcycle footage and has a very summertime vibe.
“If my life is a book, then this album is the first chapter that truly addresses the central conflict,” frontman Johnny Stevens said in a press release. “The recognition of an ego, the problems its caused — and the birth of its death. ‘As Above, So Below.’ If I’m being real, I hit rock bottom again. After another close call with death, I feel wide awake. I don’t know how the book ends yet, but I’m very engaged in the plot now. I’d rather it not end at all.”
Fans are able to pre-save As Above, So Below ahead of its release at this location. Stream “Summertime Voodoo” and watch the song’s official music video below.
