5 Stellar Moments From Pierre Robert’s Broadcast At The Cape May Zoo
Congratulations to the Cape May County Park & Zoo for winning our Jersey Shore 64 bracket competition.
The Rock N’ Roll Animals at the Cape May Zoo
Out of 64 attractions scattered throughout the New Jersey coastline from Brigantine to Wildwood, and 6 rounds of voting, the Cape May Zoo stood victorious!
Pierre Robert broadcasted live from the Cape May Zoo to celebrate the victory on Friday, July 19th from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
As an animal lover himself, Pierre was thrilled to broadcast live at the zoo! It was his first time checking out the park and all the exotic exhibits.
Here are some of the highlights from the broadcast.
Meeting Listeners
It was incredible to see how many people turned out to support WMMR at the zoo! From when the zoo opened until the broadcast ended, listeners stopped by and showed Pierre Robert and MMR some love. It was great chatting with everyone! And thanks for the animal and zoo song suggestions some of you gave us.
Feeding Giraffes
We had a giraffe encounter like no other. The giraffes came rushing over to eat the leaves straight out of Pierre’s hand! They are absolutely massive. And they’re vegetarians, like Pierre! This is something you can book when you go to the Cape May Zoo, so check out their giraffe encounters.
Hanging With Capybaras
They’re giant guinea pigs! Pierre got to stop by the capybara enclosure and hang with the world’s largest species of rodent. If you want to do something like this or see the animals privately, they have private tours before the zoo opens! You can go with a group of friends and be guided through the park while learning about the animals and seeing the exclusive access spots.
A Musical Visit
Greg Davis from Beru Revue stopped by the broadcast and treated us to a live performance. It was so fun to hear “Eddie Van Hamster.” Truly fitting, playing an animal song at a zoo! Thanks for everything, Greg!
Animals On The Air
The Zoo’s education team stopped by the broadcast tent with a few cold-blooded friends. Pierre got to chat with a baby alligator and a ball python on the air. The two animals weren’t very chatty, but their handler covered the bases for us, thankfully. We learned that a ball python is not venomous and that you should never touch a baby alligator’s head if you don’t want to get bitten!
Thanks to the Cape May Zoo for having us. It was an incredible day! And congrats again on winning our Jersey Shore 64 bracket competition.
