Manayunk Restaurant Serves Irresistible Homemade Italian Favorites
Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Manayunk, just 9 miles from Center City, Philadelphia, Mia Ragazza offers a delightful dining experience full of homemade Italian favorites. This charming restaurant captures the essence of a close-knit community with its inviting atmosphere and seasonal outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying a meal in the fresh air.
Homemade Italian Favorites
Mia Ragazza’s menu is overflowing with homemade Italian favorites, featuring daily handmade pasta, pizza dough, and focaccia as the star attractions. Upon arrival, you’ll be treated to a sample of their handmade focaccia bread with olive oil. On my first visit, I kicked things off with the Meatball appetizer—an 8oz meatball served with whipped ricotta and focaccia bread. It was a delightful start to my meal. On another occasion, my friends ordered the Salmon Tartare appetizer, which they adored!
For the main course, on both visits I opted for the Chicken Parmigiana. The generous portion was enough for leftovers and came with handmade fettuccini. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the pasta melted in my mouth. The sauce reminded me of the homemade gravy from an Italian family kitchen.
Signature Dishes and Unique Features
Mia Ragazza offers six types of pasta and lasagna, including standout dishes like pappardelle with braised short rib and gnocchi with sage brown butter sauce. Their Roman-style pizza, made with handmade dough, is also a must-try. The Burnt Pepperoni pizza is a crowd favorite, known for its crispy edges and rich flavor. The menu also includes a variety of vegetarian options, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Drinks and Desserts
During one of my visits, we sampled the Limoncello and Orangecello. Both were delightful, with the Orangecello standing out as a unique offering that you don’t often find at many restaurants.
No meal of homemade Italian favorites at Mia Ragazza is complete without sampling their delectable desserts. While they do offer the classic Tiramisu, my favorite is always the Affogato—ice cream topped with a shot of espresso. We also had the Blueberry Focaccia Bread Pudding, which was incredible. The sweetness from the blueberries and the slight crunch from the focaccia crust made it unlike any other bread pudding I’d ever had.
Dining Hours and Specials
Mia Ragazza is open for dinner from 4pm daily, with lunch service on Fridays starting at 12pm and brunch on weekends from 11am. They also offer happy hour specials on weekdays from 4-6pm. The restaurant’s inviting atmosphere, homemade Italian favorites, and friendly staff make it a perfect spot for any occasion. Reservations can be made on their website.
