Pierre Robert & Noodles of the Offspring Get ‘Supercharged’ At MMRBQ 2024 [Interview]

The MMRBQ can be considered a massive rock and roll family reunion for all music lovers in the Philadelphia area. What binds that party atmosphere all together is the incredible lineup of musicians who keep the energy high. There is no better example of a band who does that than MMRBQ 2024 headliners The Offspring. And those warm vibes and friendship were certainly flowing when Pierre Robert sat down backstage with The Offspring's six-string maestro Noodles!

They dove into discussing The Offspring's upcoming 11th studio album Supercharged including some of the themes of the songs, namely lead single "Make It All Right". As Noodles tells us, "It's about having a relationship that makes your life better, even though... the relationship is a little rough around the edges and more likely to flip you off and punch you in the shoulder then give you a hug, you know, but it's still, you know, it comes from love and and so it's it makes your life better". Noodles and Pierre also discuss how the catchy female vocals on "Make It All Right" came to be as well as how one song on Supercharged is a love letter to fans in Brazil.

Noodles and Pierre also chatted about seeing UFOs, Leonard Nimoy's grandson touring with the band, which led to the age old question: Star Trek or Star Wars? As Pierre put it, "There would be no Star Wars without Star Trek. It planted the seed!" to which Noodles shared his favorite Star Trek moments. They also discuss the juxtaposition of playing lighter and heavier songs and Pierre's willingness to travel across the globe to hear one specific Offspring track.
