By the time you are reading this you're probably already tossing or filing away the Christmas cards you received this year. Or you did that quite a while ago and you've already put the holiday season way behind you. But the holiday spirit has been extended on "Pierre Standard Time" as the Pierre Robert 2024 Christmas Card has officially made the rounds!
On the back of the card is quite the collage of memories. As the old adage goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words." To properly tell each picture's story, we have put together this little page to give each picture its due. We thank you for being with us at WMMR for our musical journey since 1968 and look forward to an incredible 2025!
Pierre Interview's Tre Cool

The only interview any member of Green Day gave during their Saviors World Tour happened when they swung by Pierre's "Good" Citizens Bank Park. That person was Pierre Robert and here he is with drummer Tre Cool. Tre with the custom Phillies City Connect jersey (and color matching hair) and Pierre with the very appropriate Tre! Chuck Taylor's.
Cue Up The Vinyl

One of the most unique portions of Pierre's program is the Vinyl Cut. Every crackle, pop, and yes, slip-up adds to the mystic of the tunes being played. And thanks to the efforts of engineering mastermind Rodney Byrd, Pierre was able to play some records down at Camp Out For Hunger.
Addressing the MMRBQ 2024 Crowd

Right before The Offspring took the stage to close out MMRBQ 2024, Pierre Robert addressed the crowd to thank them for a tremendous day of fun.

A Birthday Surprise from The Struts!

What happens when an amazing band is in town to perform during a certain legendary DJ's birthday? You surprise him with a cake that's how! The Struts did just that surprising Pierre live on the air with a birthday cake and singing Happy Birthday...in four-part harmony no less!!!
Could've Been A Doctor, A Lawyer and...SWAT Officer?!

Every year the Montgomery County SWAT team drops off a donation for Preston and Steve's Camp Out For Hunger. And every year they pay a visit during Pierre's portion of the program and showcase some of their gear. This time around Pierre got to fire a 40mm non-lethal rubber round at a target. This group show showcases how well Pierre actually did! More photos of this wild moment can be found here.
Preparing For The Total Eclipse

On April 8th, 2024 there took place a Total Eclipse of the Sun. While much of the Philly region only saw a portion due to the cloudy conditions Brent Porche, Pancake and Pierre made sure their eyes were protected by the special eclipse goggles. If you look closely, you can see a famous rockstar is also protected as well.
A Lovely Chat with Noodles

2 Great Men with Great Hair

Backstage, the wickedly cool (pun intended) Tre Cool of Green Day sat down for a chat with Pierre. They discussed a love of coffee, jamming with 2 Beatles, and giving one of the greatest station IDs of the years where Tre pretends to be Pierre Robert.
In Service To The MMR Family

During his introduction of The Offspring at MMRBQ 2024, Pierre took the time to thank our listeners for the 56 years of friendship we have shared during the course of WMMR's existence. He emphasizes that it truly is one big family.
Brothers Robinson of The Black Crowes

Prior to their show at The Met and celebrating the first new music in 15 years, both Chris and Rich Robinson swung through the Pierre Robert Studios for a sit down with the studio's namesake. Joining the conversation is a massive fan of "Those Skinny Black Crowes" Jacky Bam Bam!

Ed Rowland of Collective Soul

Backstage hanging with Ed Rowland, incredible front man of Collective Soul. Early in the year WMMR had the worldwide premiere of their single "Mother's Love" when he gave it to Pierre to play at the Cardboard Classic. Later on when Collective Soul came through town with Hootie & The Blowfish, Ed Rowland shouted Pierre out from the stage saying "I want to grow up to be Pierre!"
Live On The Air

Pierre was caught in his natural habitat. Behind the microphone serving serving all the Great Citizens the finest rock and roll tuneage.
Honoring Jerry Blavat

To honor the "Geator With The Heater, The Boss With the Hot Sauce" Jerry Blavat after his passing, Pierre spun hours worth of records at Jerry's studio. It was the last show to take place at Jerry's studio to honor the life and legacy of a true Philadelphia icon.
The Duke & Sir Charles

When Philadelphia Sixers all-star Charles Barkley was broadcasting with our sister station 97.5 The Fanatic, sports guru Pierre Robert swung by to talk about their time spent in this great city. This was also during the Back to School A to Z so when Pierre asked Chuck who his favorite band was he enthusiastically talked about his love of the Eagles.
Paddleboarding Lake Tahoe

When taking some well-deserved time off, Pierre has professed his love of Lake Tahoe on the airwaves. Here he is trying paddleboarding for the first time!

And Last But Certainly Not Least...The Christmas Card Front

Finally photographic evidence of the disastrous Burning Man 2023 on Pierre Standard Time! Pierre has always wanted to attend the annual west coast festival and when he finally gets there, there was so much rain and mud people were essentially trapped there. But in true Pierre spirit he brought the utmost positivity and joy to the event (as well as some Mummers attire courtesy of Jacky Bam Bam).
